Grand Old Pretzel – 112th Congress
Maybe they believe that the new packaging will fool the Senate into passing these extreme bills this time around!
Have you seen the bipartisan reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act that the Senate passed last month? No, because the House GOP is blocking this traditionally bipartisan measure in favor of a bill that actually rolls back existing protections for women.
Today, they hope to “re-deem” themselves by doing it all over again. Tucked away in an unrelated resolution, they have slipped in a provision to “deem” the Ryan Budget AGAIN!
House Republicans today are doubling down on the Ryan Budget – their plan to end the Medicare guarantee – not only by approving it again, but by pretending that the Senate has passed it too!
With only days left to avert a national Transportation shutdown, House Republicans are once again bending over backwards to avoid bipartisan compromise.
Yesterday -- when they realized that H.R. Frankenbill would fail -- they wheeled it into the emergency room at the House Rules Committee – and carved it back up into three separate bills.

The more contortions, the more Pretzels they will receive.
